Day 5

Hi,

Today is the last day that we are going to write in this blog and we are sad:(.

We have finished the sumo´s fight and we have reached the fourth place! We´re so happy about this because, as we told you yesterday, our monitor told us to try it, and we did, and me are 4th of 9 groups.

Wall-e from the group 9  was the winner! We have congratulated them because we are friend and we are good mates, but, as I said before, we are really sad:(

Robotron X has worked really well and we are proud of it because it has fought against really good robots and it´s enough for us.

In addition to this we have learned a lot about robots and we are thankful to our monitors and teachers because if they weren´t here we couldn´t have taken place in this wonderful proyect.

Now we are finishing our scratches and blogs. Thank you for reading our experiences for this marvelous five days.

Day 4

Hi,

Today we have been working with robots again!

Today we did a new thing with a new sensor. This sensor is used to stop the robot when it takes contact with another object and it crushes. It was awesome because we have thought that we can use it for tomorrow´s sumo´s fight!

We´re excited about tomorrow´s battle, because we think that we aren´t going to win, but our monitor has told us that we should try it because those who try it usually win battles.

We know that some of the robots are good and some are not as good as ours but we are scared about good robots. :(

After finishing with the contact sensor we have started to change the desing of our robot, for tomorrow´s battle. We haven´t finished yet but maybe if we have time tomorrow it will be scary!

We´ll tell you torrow about sumo´s battle.

Day 3

Hi,

Today we have been learning how to stop a robot without touching it. It´s done
by programming the robot that we have been using other days. It´s really good! This was done by using a sensor (ultrasonic sensor) which made the robot stop when it had something in front of it.

 We started to use light sensor, and we used it to stop the robot deppending on the sharpness of the table´s colours. This sensor will really useful for thursday´s fight.

When we had learned to use both sensors we combined them to race another circuit. This was really difficuls because we had to combine both systems and we had to program everything ok because if we didn´t do that it wouldn´t work as we wanted.

Later we learned to guide the robot through a black line, and we will be able to use this sensor for sumo fights (that are going to take place on thursday as I said before)

Day 2

Hi friends,

Today we´ve done new activities to continue with our tecnologic education.

The first hour we have started to work with a new computer program called scratch. Scratch is a computer program destinated for 

children from six to sixteen years old. It is used to introduce  children into tecnology. 

The rest of the morning we have been working with tobots. We have been changing the position of the motors by following a guide that our monitors had given us on friday. 

We have been bouling with our robots using papers as bowls. We used the mecanic arm as impulse to pull all the bowls.To follow with this process we have been playing different games to try out the changes that we had been doing.

In the afternoon we have continued with our scratch and we have been writing our blog.

Day 1

Today we have built the robot from the beginning. Our teachers have given us a box with Lego pieces to build our robot. It was really fun and interesting.

After finishing this process we have raced a circuit with the form of a 5 and it was a more difficult, but it was still easy.

When we have finished it we have programmed in different paths. The first time we have practiced the easiest race, this consisted in going forward and later backward, this was really instructive for us because this helped us to start learning about how to build and program robots.

Later we have raced another circuit, it had the form of a bow and this one was a bit difficult. To go on with this project we put into action the processes that we had already practiced in the last race.

When we had finished with this one we started with the third one and this was a race against our mates. One of us had to guide the robot with the phone with an app. We raced against the group number two and we lost L but we did it really well.

Finally we started to configure the robot to race a circuit without any guide. We haven´t finished yet but on Monday we will post the final result of this circuit. To see it you will be able to read it on the second day´s post.
